Just when I'm feeling lowish - fatter, slower, older, sorer, etc, reality hits, and you realise that things aren't too bad afterall.
My dear friend has just been diagnosed with lymphoma, from what I can read, a nasty blood cancer. She lives in Warnambool, about 4 hours south-east of Melbourne in Australia. We had planned a trip to see her and her husband next week, so I'm pleased to be getting over to see her, and give her and her family some support. She's a very competitive person, so I'm sure she'll give getting on top of this top priority!
So no more complaining from me for now - I'll just keep my goals and abilities in perspective and get on with doing the best that I can!

HERE HERE..... You need a good "shot" of that reality stuff from time to time!!!
Hope you manage to cheer your friend up - just being there will help no doubt!
Sorry to hear that. It makes you appreciate the health you have. Bloke at work (same age as me) was diagnosed with cancer this week ... they have got it early so should be OK but scary stuff!
Oh my goodness, that's bad news :(
Thanks for your comment on my blog - I really appreciate your thoughtfulness. my friend got on to the link for the person you suggested and will ring him on Monday.
If I'm not completely derailled by this stupid cold I hope we can meet up at Run Melbourne next week, should be fun :)
Will be entering Tga Half as soon as entries open - it sold out in a week last year, so def need to be in early.
I'm prob not going to do the Akld Half, although don't count me totally out - was thinking of doing the Rotorua Marathon, but I can easily change my mind - doing the triple would be kina awesum aye???? Will see after Tga!
